Alfredo is a Professional Agrologist with more than 20 years of experience in agriculture and the environment, primarily as a soil scientist. He has successfully managed contaminated site remediation, land reclamation and soil conservation projects throughout western Canada, on agricultural land, native prairie land as well as forested and peat land sites. Alfredo has conducted baseline soil surveys for pipeline construction and reclamation applications, as well as pre-development site assessments and soil monitoring programs as part of operating approvals. He has experience in environmental monitoring for construction of wellsites, as well as has provided field support to pipeline, powerline construction and monitoring teams. On the downstream side, Alfredo has participated in tank removal programs in Saskatchewan and Alberta as well as implemented risk management programs at decommissioned gas stations.
He has carried out numerous groundwater-monitoring programs to evaluate water quality around farmland, landfills, as well as industrial facilities such as oil and gas operations. Alfredo has conducted a number of liability assessments for clients that were evaluating corporate liabilities during acquisitions as well as to meet regulatory requirements. In addition, he has been lead assessor for contaminated site investigations for commercial Phase I and II ESAs, and for site-specific liability assessments for the AER’s Licensee Liability Rating (LLR) program. Alfredo also has experience in the field of agricultural waste management and composting as well as nutrient cycling. He has honed his agronomic skills through teaching at Olds College and as a member of the Industry Advisory Committee to the Land Reclamation program. He is able to communicate with stakeholders, including regulatory agents, contractors and landowners to ensure successful outcomes of project goals. Alfredo has a Master of Science in Soil Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Soil Science, both from the University of Alberta. He is a professional Agrologist in Alberta and British Columbia.
