Carol, P.Biol.

Carol is a native Calgarian and professional biologist who has spent time tromping around the foothills of Alberta riding horses, watching birds, camping and backpacking. Her 15 years + of experience has led her to be skilled at understanding human-wildlife interactions, environmental impacts, habitat restoration and wildlife management. Her wish is to combine her skills in ecology, biodiversity, species at risk and collaboration to solve environmental and sustainability problems. She has an in-depth understanding of natural resource policy and regulatory frameworks in Western Canada. She has coordinated pre-disturbance field programs and completed many environmental audits and inspections for oil and gas facilities and pipelines.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology from the University of Calgary as well as an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate from the University of Alberta. In addition, she has completed numerous post-secondary training to complement her formal education, including stakeholder engagement. She is a past board member, president, and is the current Chair of the Practice Review Committee with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists.
Carol is on the Board of Directors of the Alberta Ecotrust and a long-time volunteer with the Calgary Stampede.
