Nathan is an environmental planner with over fifteen years of experience conducting environmental assessments, planning, and regulatory permitting for public and private sector clients. He has an extensive technical background completing environmental assessments including wildlife, vegetation, and fisheries surveys, aquatic and terrestrial habitat classification and mapping, and environmental site assessments. Nathan has worked as an environmental planner and project manager coordinating multidisciplinary teams to conduct environmental assessments and to achieve regulatory permits and approvals.
Nathan has acted as environmental advisor on behalf of several municipalities reviewing proponent environmental assessment reports and is specialized in Wetlands, Species at Risk, Environmental Impact Assessments, and Biophysical Impact Assessments. He is experienced with providing mitigation to avoid or minimize environmental impacts, and with ecological restoration plans. Nathan has basic GIS software skills, combined with a very good proficiency with web-enabled GIS mapping applications and in-the-field GIS data collector systems. He has managed multi-disciplinary teams across multiple offices and profit centres and is able to produce scopes of work and budgets for large ongoing client support programs. He combines his excellent technical writing, review, and editing skills with very good personal communication skills and high personal standards and professionalism.
Nathan is registered as a Professional Biologist with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologist. He has a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management – Wildlife and Fisheries from the University of Northern British Columbia.
